Australian Renewable Energy On Right Track with Lower Cost and Greater Investments

Green and renewable energy produced a record share of Australia’s electricity in 2016, with a slew of new projects putting Australia right on track to reaching the 2020 Renewable Energy Target.

More than 17% of Australia’s electricity came from renewable sources last year, which is up from 14.6% in 2015. This is due to greater rainfall in some key hydro catchments together with a series of new wind and solar projects according to a report from the Clean Energy Council. Kane Thornton, Clean Energy Council chief executive said that the renewables industry was set for another record year this 2017.
