Former Australian Race Car Driver And Solar Entrepreneur Tackles US Solar Market

Business News Australia reported that former Australian race car driver and builder Kenny Habul is now the CEO and president of SunEnergy1 and has built one of the biggest renewable energy companies in North America. Mr. Habul is based in North Carolina and has presented his plans for building the world’s largest solar plant at Bond University’s Business Leader’s Forum.

Habul graduated from Bond in 1994 with a law degree and joined his brothers in building luxury eco-friendly houses on the Gold Coast. In 2005 he relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina ato build more eco-friendly houses.

He decided to switch to commercial and utility-scale installations after the GFC hit. He discovered the generous tax incentives offered in North Carolina for investments in solar and now, SunEnergy1 build some of the largest solar power systems in the world.

At present, the company has filed for approval to build the largest solar power system in the United States at 945 megawatts on 2,225 hectares of land.
