Tesla has completed construction of its giant lithium-ion battery in South Australia [as reported by ABC News.](http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2017-11-23/worlds-most-powerful-lithium-ion-battery-finished-in-sa/9183868?pfmredir=sm&sf174087552=1)

The project was dubbed the biggest and most powerful lithium-ion battery plant and expected to be tested in the coming days ahead of the December 1 deadline.

The Tesla Powerpack battery array has been installed alongside the French company Neoen’s Hornsdale windfarm near Jamestown in South Australia’s mid-north region. Also according to the report, South Australian taxpayers will spend up to $50 million subsidizing the 100-megawatt battery while the SA government will have access to some of the battery’s output in providing stability services to the grid.
