Turnbull Government Support Mobile Solar Project

The Turnbull government will grant $2.1 million in pop-up mobile solar technology to help businesses that include construction firms and mining to replace dirty old diesel generators with a clean and renewable energy solution in remote locations across regional Australia.

While most of the new Commonwealth funding is backing large-scale utility solar and battery projects, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency will announce it has committed more funding to support the commercialisation of 1-megawatt mobile solar farm that is being developed by SunShift. SunShift is a new clean energy firm established by global infrastructure player Laing O’ Rourke.

This all-in-one system that combines solar photovoltaic systems with a conventional diesel or gas generator and battery storage can be deployed fast in shipping containers at different locations.
