Tesla’s Largest Lithium-Ion Battery Will be On This Week

ABC News reported that Elon Musk’s largest lithium-ion battery power plant is right on track and is ready ahead of its 100-day deadline. Musk promised that if the 100-megawatt battery power plant is not finished within 100 days of the contracts being signed at the end of September, the power will be handed over free to the South Australian government.

Australian Energy Market Operator chief executive Audrey Zibelman said she’s expecting the battery on Friday, which is the first day of summer when people will be turning on their air-conditioning and will expect power soars.

The world’s largest lithium-ion battery will be an important part of our energy mix, and it sends the clearest message that South Australia will be a leader in renewable energy with battery storage.

Tesla has partnered with French renewable energy Firm Neoen in building the battery power plant.
