Kangaroo Inn Area School, a tiny regional school located in South Australia’s south-east has started a major renewable energy project that will have their students build solar panels that will be attached to a battery storage pack which will run pumps that will recirculate water to their fish farms as reported by ABC News.
The fish waste is collected and absorbed by pots of watercress and then irrigated while cleaning the water so it can be used again in the tank.
The kangaroo Inn Area School is a reception-12 school with 98 students and has won a $20,000 grant through the South Australian Government’s STEM Career Development Fund.
